In these unprecedented times, we collaborated to "make it work", abided by all recommended return to play protocols and made it through the season healthy, energized and with excitement. MPR is proud of all of our teams, players, parents, coaches and trainers.
Congratulations on your continued pathway of development. Every team succeeded because we all continued to learn, develop and grow both as individuals and as a team. We certainly had our fair share of tournament and league champions, but more so we had 100% of our teams enjoy playing the sport we all know and love, continued to learn and grow and continued to strive to better tomorrow than they were the day before no matter what the result was. Congratulations To Coach Reilly's HS Varsity Girls Team - Suffolk County Champions Again
Coach Reilly's Squad won its 12th League/Divisional Championship along with its 11th County/Sectional Appearance and Winning its 9th Title since 2002 when Coach Reilly debut with the program. His team has done no worse than win a League Title and or Compete in a Sectional Championship. Congrats to the entire program and all the amazing student athletes who work so hard both on and off the pitch. The girls lost an amazingly entertaining game 1-0 in the State Quarter Final to VSS who went on to win the State Championship. Several Lady Bucs were recognized for their play during the season including a Divisional Player of the Year Award, 2 All-State Selections, Newsday All-Long Island Selection and County COY Award for Coach Reilly. Congrats to the entire squad. And to all of our seniors who have already committed to play. |
Very Fortunate to have talked with "some of the greats" (at least from my era and in my mind!)
Every one of them were kind, honest, though provoking, intelligent and appreciated my thoughts on grass root soccer and where the game is and where it is going! Both Eric Wynalda and Hope Solo offered their true opinions and answered questions I requisitioned from them in fine fashion, honestly and quite passionately and thoroughly. And quite honestly, answers I was hoping to hear and completely agree with and appreciated tremendously.
