COACH MIKE REILLY - SOCCER TRAINER / COACH AND SOCCER SPEED AND FITNESS SPECIALIST
Founder of MPR Training, Mike is a also a high school teacher and varsity coach since 2002. As a Director of Coaches, A Head/Lead Coach, Player, Trainer and a Fan of this wonderful, exciting sport, Coach Reilly has experiences on many levels. This includes, having played collegiate and semi-professionally, coaching at the High School level, a Director of Coaches Position within a local club, coaching ALL levels of travel teams and at various camps throughout the United States and volunteering with Special Needs Soccer to name just some of his experiences. Coach Reilly has trained ALL levels of teams and players from Beginners to Ivy League, from NAIA to All-American Division I College athletes to world class players in our Professional Leagues. Coach Reilly has and will always continue to strive to be the best possible coach he can and has attained over 40 certifications/diplomas/licenses including but not limited to United Soccer Coaches Advanced National license, United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaches License, USC Goalkeeper Level 1, NHFS Level II, Futsal Diploma, Youth Soccer Injury Prevention, CPR/AE/First Aid Certified and USC National Youth License to name just a few.
Coach Reilly played for a highly competitive Nationally ranked NAIA college. With over 160 points and 68 goals in his four-year college career, Coach Reilly has been awarded All District, All Conference Honors, CACC 1st Team, 2 Time Team Captain and MVP, as well as been ranked in the Top 20 NAIA National College Rankings as one of the country's top goal and point scorers in consecutive years. In 1998 he was honored to be named to his college's "Team of the Decade". Mike was the only player at his alma mater to compete against fully funded scholarship Colleges and Universities and still be able to win a District Championship, Regional appearance and finish as one highest goal and point scorers in the Country!!!
After College Mike played in the LIHSA (Long Island Hispanic Soccer Association) League and the TriCap (Tri-State) League both a member of the United States Amateur Soccer Association. A member of Athletico Juvenil, and on loan to numerous teams throughout the years, Mike competed with the highest level of talented players in the region and internationally from South America. In the mid and late 1990's Mike Reilly led Athletico Juvenil to two undefeated seasons and received numerous individual honors.
Coach Reilly took over the girls' soccer program at Islip High School in 2002. In that time Coach Reilly has accumulated a record of 259-72-27 winning 8 straight League Championships (13 total, 4 Undefeated) competing in 13 Sectional County Championships winning 10 (four consecutively 02',05',06',07',08',11',12',15',18', 20'), 3 Regional Championships and a New York State Championship Title in 2015. He has led the Lady Bucs to a #1 State Ranking and a Top 25 NSCAA/USC National Ranking on several occasions including #6 in the Country in 2021. His student athletes have garnered numerous awards from All-League Honors to All-State 1st Team honors to State Player of the Year awards all the way to NSCAA All-Region and All-American. Coach Reilly has been awarded the Class A Suffolk County Coach of the year 8 times, Newsday Long Island Coach of the Year twice, New York State Coach of the Year 2x, United Soccer Coaches Regional COY and MSG/NEWS 12 All-Metro Tri-State Coach of the Year once. IVS has garnered 5 NYS Player of the Year Awards!!! Mike will be honored in 2022 as an inductee into the NYSSCOGS NYS High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame. He has coached numerous League, LI CUP and State Championship travel teams over the past two decades.
Our athletes both boys and girls have gone onto play at such colleges as University of Georgia, Hofstra, Penn State, NC State, Old Dominion, Adelphi, CW Post, Harvard, Oneonta, Bucknell, FAU and many more! Not only has Coach Reilly's teams excelled on the field but also in the classroom as each team has received the Scholar/ Athlete Team Award from NYS Public High School Athletic Association every year since 2005. Coach Reilly assures all athletes that they will be ready for the challenges of college both on and off the field. Mike not only coaches the sport but all of life's lessons we learn being involved with athletics.
Mike is dedicated to helping promote the sport and most importantly the amazing soccer athletes here on Long Island. He is currently the President of the Suffolk County Girls Soccer Coaches Association, NYSSCOGS All-State Coordinator and Liaison, United Soccer Coaches / Adidas Region II and National HS Girls Ranking Committee, NYS High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame Vice President, Director of Coaches in a local club as well as restored the High School Exceptional Senior Games back to prominent status on Long Island promoting our un-committed student soccer athletes and keeping relations with numerous collegiate institutions both locally and regionally. Mike is also the head coach of the Long Island United Women's Soccer Team which is predominantly made up of all Long Island girls who are currently playing in college as well as a few who have graduated but still have the desire and skill to continue their soccer careers. MPR Soccer Training currently works with over 25 teams and numerous individuals across the island.
Mike has concentrated on training and coaching today's and tomorrow's future stars. A desire to continue to learn and to share knowledge with others is Mike's goal. He takes extreme pride and dedication to the game we all have come to know and love. His teams, players, co-coaches, moms and dads, and trainees who want to have fun and improve their game all appreciate and think highly of Mike's time, consideration, willingness, and dedication to the game and its fans.
